Why We Do What We Do!
In early 2011, just after our first daughter was born, my husband Greg and I decided to head out of town and buy our own patch of land. Having both spent our childhood living on farms, it was a mutual decision when it came to how we wanted to raise our own brood.
We fell in love with Lansdowne Farm, 20 minutes north of Dubbo, near the small village of Mogriguy and quickly settled into the farm lifestyle again. We started raising sheep, chickens and growing crops.
We were struggling with our daughters' allergies and eczema when we stumbled across goats milk products and natural herbal products. Our eldest daughter in particular had really struggled since birth with eczema after being diagnosed with numerous food allergies which triggered her severe breakouts. She was hospitalized and wet wrapped with bandages at one stage to control a severe outbreak. During her first four years of life we tried numerous creams, steroids, medicines and methods. We found that keeping the products as natural as possible was our best line of defence when it came to fighting her eczema flares. |
I began to make our own soap when our dermatologist explained some of the ingredients found in the skincare supermarket isle and why they were not helping our situation. I did some of my own further research and was horrified at the ingredients list of many popular brands.
After some experimentation with soap recipes, I tried a recipe for home made soap with goats milk and it really was amazing. After suffering dermatitis on my own hands for years due to an apprenticeship in hairdressing, I watched as the raw redness between my fingers healed within the week. To say I was impressed was an understatement! |
Since then, I have developed a range of natural products hand made on farm for people looking for something that is gentler on their skin. Our range includes soaps, creams and lotions, home grown herbal-botanical bath and body products, lip balm, insect repellent and more.
